A year in the South East!

It's been an amazing year!  We thought we were coming down here to chill out and slow life down, but quite the contrary happened and we wouldn't have wanted it any other way!

Out of 52 weekends,  we were out of town or had visitors 31 out of 52 weekends!  We got to explore the Southeast and those who visited us also got to have a taste of the South they otherwise may not have!

In less than a month- we move back to Chicago and start a new life with a new job, a new home, and a new human being!

Copacabana Beach NYE 2015!

I love this picture for many reasons.  There was so much going on that night. I remember the walk from our hotel to Copacabana beach.  There were thousands (literally thousands) of humans walking towards the beach wearing white, champagne in hand ready to ring in the new year with their loved ones.  It was quite an amazing experience spending new years eve on this spectacular beach.  Once we got to the beach, we were surrounded by humans wearing white.  The best part of this picture is not the fireworks; its everything around the fireworks.  The cruise ships, the people swimming in the ocean, the girl on her fathers shoulder, people taking selfies with the fireworks, and the people holding white flowers on the edges of the picture which they will eventually place into the sea as an offering to the goddess of the sea (Lemanja) for good luck in the new year.   If you ever have a chance in life to ring in the new year on this beach, it would be well worth the trip! Plus, you can have a delicious Caipirinha, Brazils national cocktail!
